TASKMASTER® Aids In Remediation

A major manufacturer of detergent products was faced with a problem in safely disposing liquids stored in plastic containers. Their NJ facility was being replaced and was saddled with a warehouse full of damaged containers filled with powerful detergent. Plastic half gallon containers in corrugated boxes along with wood, glass and broken pallets had to be safely
disposed of before the facility could be torn down.

The company hired an environmental waste remediation organization to supervise the proper disposal of the product. A requirement was that the fluids in the container had to be safely
disposed of without contaminating the local sewer system. That's when the remediation company turned to Franklin Miller, a manufacturer with extensive experience in both bulk shredding and wastewater grinders, for a suitable shredding system.

A Taskmaster Model TM2330 was selected for the project. This 40 hp unit employs two counter-rotating banks of rotating cutters that intermesh at close clearance. The unit was installed and an end loader was brought in to feed the materials into the shredder. The TASKMASTER powerfully reduced all the waste solids to small pieces. The liquids were then separated from the shredded bits and sent for further disposal.

The TASKMASTER Shredder is designed to shred solid waste in a broad range of applications with minimal maintenance. This unit can reduce bulk waste by up to 80%. A special feature of the model TM2300 is its unique split body design, which facilitates complete cutter stack removal without dismantling the unit. These units can be provided in a variety of sizes and configurations to meet most waste reduction applications. The TASKMASTER is available with a variety of seal systems which are used to maintain fluids within the chamber.
