Shielded M12 Connectors Accommodate Larger Wire Sizes and Ferrules

Camarillo, CA - April 20th, 2006 - Binder's 713, 715, and 825 series 3, 4 and 5 pole M12 connectors with screw termination can now be connected with large diameter wires having a cross section of up to 0.75mm² (approx. 18 AWG) with or without ferrule.

For screw terminations, ferrules are used to prevent the breakage of wire strands. This increases the diameter of each conductor. To assure easy and simple mounting with or without a ferrule, Binder's contact carriers have been modified, accepting larger conductors, while new head screws securely hold each conductor in place. Thorough testing has proven that wire sizes from 0.14mm² without ferrule to 0.75mm² with ferrule can be terminated with no problem. These improvements have already been realized within Binder's own production processes and with no price increase to our customers.
