Sheet Gasketing is suited for sealing applications.

Press Release Summary:

Due to its microstructure, GORE-TEX GR® withstands creep relaxation and offers dimensional stability at elevated operating temperatures. Sheet integrity helps prevent fractures that can occur due to improper gasket loading. Made from 100% GORE-TEX® expanded PTFE, product is impervious to chemicals, suitable for use from -450 to +600°F, and withstands pressures to 3,000 psig. Material also complies with FDA food requirements.

Original Press Release:

New, Enhanced Gore Sheet Gasketing is Stronger than Ever...and Even More Reliable

Elkton, Md., August 16, 2005 - W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. announces the introduction of new, enhanced GORE-TEX GR® sheet gasketing. The enhanced performance attributes represent a technical breakthrough for PTFE gasketing in the area of dimensional stability - a key attribute of important value to users.

Featuring a unique, newly patented microstructure, the GORE-TEX GR® sheet gasketing material's ability to withstand creep relaxation means better performance at elevated operating temperatures. Plus, its greater sheet integrity helps prevent fractures that can occur due to improper gasket loading in exceptional circumstances such as extreme flange deviation and misaligned flanges.

With the newly enhanced performance properties, industrial users who have come to rely on GORE-TEX GR® sheet gasketing since the early 1990s for exceptional sealing can be more confident than ever about the benefits: greater reliability, along with encountering even fewer operational "surprises" from flanges. According to Rob Haywood, Gore Product Manager, the new enhanced GORE-TEX GR® sheet gasketing product offers several key advantages for plant operators: reducing sealing system costs; minimizing downtime, and optimizing personnel safety.

GORE-TEX GR® sheet gasketing can be used in most types of sealing applications. Made from 100% GORE-TEX® expanded PTFE, the material is impervious to virtually all chemicals, is suitable for use from -450°F to +600°F (-268°C to +315°C), and withstands pressures to 3,000 psig. The material complies with FDA food requirements.
