Shand & Jurs Deflagration Arresters Attain ATEX Approval
Hillside, IL - Shand & Jurs, a leader in tank gauging and tank protection equipment, is pleased to announce four models of its Deflagration Arresters have earned ATEX 94/4/EC approval.
Deflagration Flame Arresters are safety devices designed to keep the temperature of flammable vapor passing through the arrestor's tube bank below its flash point, thereby preventing combustion.
The Shand and Jurs Model 94450 Combination Deflagration Flame Arrester & Free Vent is designed to provide positive fire stop and maximum venting under specified operating conditions. The 94450 features one Compact Fitting for Positive Flame Arrest & Maximum Flow Venting, and an Easily Accessible, Unitized Tube Bank.
Standard materials of construction include Carbon Steel, 304 Stainless Steel, 316 Stainless Steel, Aluminum [ISO Only], Ductile Iron, Cast Iron [ISO Only], Duplex Stainless Steel, Hastelloy C and Alloy 20.
The Shand and Jurs Model 94470 Combination Conservation Vent & Deflagration Flame Arrester is a single, easy to configure package providing for pressure and vacuum relief, as well as positive flame stop on low pressure tanks containing flammable liquids or solvents having a low flash point.
The conservation (breather) vent features cushion seated diaphragms constructed of FEP Teflon for reliability, and extended service life. For high reliability the pressure and vacuum pallets are both peripherally and center stem-guided.
The S&J Model 94406 Deflagration Flame Arresters and 94407 Horizontal Inline Model Deflagration Flame Arresters are designed to provide a positive fire stop. In addition to ATEX approval, they are also approved by FM (Factory Mutual), EN 12874, ISO 16852, and are available in a wide range of sizes and materials.
