Baumuller Introduces New Line of High Torque, Low Inertia Servo Motors
Bloomfield, CT. October 28, 2002. Baumuller America Inc. has introduced the new 22-100 DSD Series three-phase, 540 volt synchronous servo motors for industrial automation applications. The new line includes sizes 22, 28, 36, 45, 56, 71 and 100, configured both with and without fans and with standard, or high resolution encoder and power connectors.
The torque ratings for the new series vary from under 5 max. torque (Nm) in the small sizes to 300 max. torque (Nm) for the 100 size servo motor. In company tests, the new DSD Servo Motors produced 30 to 150% more torque than standard and low inertia servo motors. Tests also showed a torque overload capability of up to 300%.
The inertia ratings for the series varies from 18,000 mo. max./J(l/sec²) for the 100 size to over 110,000 mo. max./J(l/sec²) for the 45 size. In company tests, the DSD line produced up to 300% greater dynamic acceleration than standard servo motors.
With high torque and inertia ratings, the new DSD servo motors are designed for industrial automation applications with frequent start/stop requirements and high inertia and torque specifications.
