PITTMAN(R) ELCOM ST(TM) Brushless DC Servo Motors Designed To Deliver High Power And Long Life

HARLEYSVILLE, PA, November 28, 2001 -- PITTMAN® ELCOM ST(TM) slotted brushless DC servo motors feature internal Hall sensor feedback for linear speed-torque characteristics, high starting torque, and variable speed control with appropriate drive electronics. Their 6-slot lamination design promotes high power, fast acceleration, consistent performance, and long life. Applications include imaging and medical diagnostic devices, computer peripherals, mass storage and office automation machinery, semiconductor equipment, and many others.

ELCOM ST slotted brushless DC motors are available in four standard stack lengths (1/2", 1", 1-1/2" and 2") to satisfy the widest range of specific application torque requirements. All have a 4-pole rotor featuring high-energy neodymium iron-bore magnets for optimal performance. Continuous torque output up to 49 oz-in. can be achieved with motor speeds up to 8,000 RPM and
power output up to 188 watts.

The motor's mounting configuration is consistent with NEMA 23 standards and a modular design facilitates customization with such components as modified shafts, multiple windings, electromechanical brakes, and optical encoders to meet unique application demands.
