Versatile new gearhead offers lowest backlash and highest efficiency in its class
Elk Grove Village, IL alpha gear drives, Inc. announces the V-Drive series high precision right angle servo gearheads for economical servo motor applications. The compact right angle design of the V-Drive series allows it to be used in a variety of applications where space is at a premium. Also, the overload capacity is greater than four times the continuous torque rating, exceeding the industry standard.

The V-Drive Solution
alpha s V-Drive incorporates a specially designed optimized tooth profile that promotes longer life due to less friction, resulting in reduced wear. Additional benefits of this tooth design include greater torque capabilities and, most importantly, higher precision. The V-Drive boasts efficiencies as high as 95%, and backlash rating of 3 arc minutes or less. This extremely quiet gearhead is able to maintain this backlash longer using oil lubrication instead of grease. Designed to work under pressure, this maintenance-free gearhead has a completely sealed design, eliminating leaks.
The V-Drive also utilizes alpha s patented servo motor mounting system allowing for fast and easy motor mounting in just minutes. This gearhead can also take advantage of alpha s extensive library of existing motor combinations, eliminating the need for special flanges at additional costs.
