Salesforce.com Launches AppExchange Incubators

First in a series of worldwide incubators to fuel entrepreneurship in multi- tenant applications and on-demand companies through the power of The Business Web

SAN FRANCISCO - SALESFORCE.COM DREAMFORCE CONFERENCE - Oct. 9 -- Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM), the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced the launch of the AppExchange incubators. AppExchange incubators will allow fledgling companies to capitalize on the expertise salesforce.com has acquired as the worldwide market and technology leader in on-demand business services. Entrepreneurs will be able to rent office space in an AppExchange incubator and work side by side with salesforce.com employees and AppExchange partners to leverage the experience and best practices of the entire on-demand community.

AppExchange incubators will provide entrepreneurs and incubator companies with a full package of business services, including access to the Apex multi- tenant programming language and platform, technology infrastructure, product development, sales and marketing support, fundraising and business development assistance, and office space. The incubators will compress the development timeline and the go-to-market costs for incubator companies.

"AppExchange incubators will accelerate the on-demand computing industry by enabling entrepreneurs to tap into the expertise and experience of salesforce.com and our AppExchange partners," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "Just as our new Apex programming language and platform will remove the infrastructure requirements for on-demand application development, the AppExchange incubators will remove the barriers associated with founding a company. With Apex and the AppExchange incubators, all an entrepreneur needs to be successful is an idea and an Internet connection."

"As a small, rapidly growing software-as-a-service company, we are very interested in the services made available via the AppExchange incubators," said Chris Hens, President and COO, White Springs. "We will be able to build the next version of our applications for the AppExchange without any additional infrastructure investment on our part, and would love to take advantage of the experience and expertise of salesforce.com and other partners who are already successful on the AppExchange today."

The first AppExchange incubator is currently scheduled to open in San Mateo, Calif., in the first quarter of 2007. More incubators are scheduled to be set up around the world in the next 12-18 months.
