InfinityQS Provides New Factory Automation Tools

InfinityQS® International, the leading provider of real-time Statistical Process Control (SPC) software, unveiled three new quality data automation services with the release of Remote Alarm Monitor Service (RAMS), Remote Event Monitor Service (REMS) and OPC Data Collection Service (OPCDCS). InfinityQS designed these Windows-based services to perform quality data monitoring on the shop floor with real-time event-logging and alarming. These tools allow companies who use InfinityQS' ProFicient software to manage quality by exception-with no human intervention required unless a pre-defined quality event occurs.

RAMS, REMS and OPCDCS help plants to run "lights out" so that process events can be automatically logged with no human interaction. These tools are particularly advantageous in heavily automated, streamlined data collection environments, where resources are focused on strategic quality initiatives as opposed to simple process monitoring. The ProFicient user does not need to be logged into the system in order for the system to collect quality data, analyze it, and then trigger other systems to respond in pre-defined ways to start addressing quality issues.

RAMS and REMS monitor selected data streams and perform control chart analyses for specified control limit and specification limit violations. When a specific event is detected, REMS launches a pre-defined response from user-specified files or applications. These tools do not require other InfinityQS SPC applications to be running in order to generate alarms and events, as they are services that run in the background of the Windows operating system. RAMS and REMS monitor automated data values regardless of the data source, offering enhanced functionality over imported "out of specification" and "out of control" tests by allowing the user to pre-define any of the control chart rules for analysis. The OPC Data Collection Service collects subgroup data from OPC servers and imports it into the ProFicient database.

"These tools create a benchmark for the integration of truly automated SPC technology with workflow processes on the shop floor," said Michael A. Lyle, president and CEO of InfinityQS. "Instead of spending valuable time logging quality events and manually monitoring the system, the factory operator can now focus on other key production tasks, only attending to quality issues as they arise."
