Services Allow Mobile Operators to Rapidly Respond to Subscribers' Demands for New Offerings including Digital Content and Mobile/VoIP Roaming
CANNES, France, 3GSM Congress 2005, Feb. 14 - VeriSign, Inc. -- Announcing the introduction of the VeriSign and Gemplus SIM Authentication Solution. This provides wireless carriers with a scalable strong authentication solution that gives their customers the ability to conduct remote transactions with confidence and ease. The solution supports several types of authentication options including One Time Password (OTP) and Digital Certificates. VeriSign and Gemplus will demonstrate SIM-Based Authentication joined with IBM Tivoli Federated Identity software solutions to provide carriers and enterprises with a single authentication platform to deliver strong Single Sign On that enables secure commerce, communication and content distribution.
-- VeriSign and BridgePort Networks, IBM, PCTEL and IMC will participate in MobileVoIP LIVE! Visitors to 3GSM World Congress 2005 will be able to experience seamless roaming of calls using a single phone with a GSM-based number over both GSM and WiFi broadband networks. Attendees who visit to the participating MobileIGNITE member stands can test MobileVoIP Live! using Windows Mobile Phone Edition smart phone with GSM/WiFi phone with a unified cellular and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based VoIP interface to make and receive phone calls.
