Virgin Mobile USA Launches New 'Contact Vault' to Store and Retrieve Personal Contact Information

No-Annual-Contract Wireless Company Introduces Stored, Transferable & Retrievable Telephone Numbers

WARREN, N.J., July 16 /-- A new service launched today by Virgin Mobile USA eliminates the hassle for customers of losing or having to re-enter personal contact information into their address books. "Contact Vault" now allows Virgin Mobile customers with the Switch_Back or Cyclops handsets to store, retrieve, delete and transfer their wireless phone's personal contacts list in the event the phone is lost, stolen, damaged or upgraded.

This convenient and stress-saving service automatically updates contacts, phone numbers and instant messaging buddy lists as they are added or changed on the customer's phone. Most valuable is Contact Vault's "kill feature," which can be used to wipe out all contacts from the handset should it be lost or stolen, while retaining all the information in the customer's account online. The saved contacts can then easily be imported onto a new Virgin Mobile phone that supports the Contact Vault service.

Customers can access Contact Vault directly through their Virgin Mobile phones on the Virgin XL menu or through the web at www.virginmobileusa.com to manage and change the contact information online. Once customers subscribe to the service via their Virgin Mobile handset or Virgin Mobile's website, they simply download the application to their mobile phones. Once the application is available, it can be set to regularly synchronize the two personal contacts lists on a regular basis -- on a daily, weekly or monthly basis depending on one's preference.

"Virgin Mobile determines what products and services to introduce through close dialogue with our customers, and we know the ability to save, store and transfer contacts is a valuable and appealing concept," said Howard Handler, chief marketing officer, Virgin Mobile USA. "A feature like our new Contact Vault is a valuable addition that makes mobile phone use that much easier and convenient."

And customers who change to another Virgin Mobile phone which supports Contact Vault -- the Switch_Back or Cyclops -- no longer have to hesitate, thinking about all the wasted time of transferring personal contacts to a new phone. This is all taken care of directly through Contact Vault. Customers can easily input up to six phone numbers per contact in the address book and store up to 140 contacts in total, depending on the phone model. The cost for Contact Vault is $1.99 per month, regardless of how often one chooses to synchronize the information.

Contact Vault also offers other time-saving features such as the ability to import contact information from such programs as Microsoft(R) Outlook and Yahoo!(R) Mail. Customers using the Switch_Back or Cyclops also have the option to share selected information from their address books with friends who are Virgin Mobile customers, allowing them to easily transfer IM buddies, email addresses and phone numbers to and from each other.
