Original Press Release:

Arista's New 4U 20-Slot Industrial-Grade Server Offers a Flexible Platform for Mission Critical CTI and Networking Applications

Wide variety of ISA IPCI passive backplanes, powerful Single Board Computer, front-accessible redundant power supplies, and a SCSI RAID controller delivers "five nines" server performance.

Fremont, CA - August 14, 2002 - Arista Corporation, a leading industrial PC solutions provider and system integrator, introduces the new rugged Power Racer 4120, an industrial-grade server that provides maximum scalability for virtually any mission-critical CTI or networking application. This low
cost, highly reliable 4U, 20-slot server features a variety of ISA or ISA/PCI backplanes, a powerful single board computer, SCSI RAID controller, front accessible redundant power supplies and cooling fans providing "five nines" reliability. Applications include automatic call devices, call center servers,
wide area and local area network servers, virtual private networks, voice over internet protocol (VoIP), and video-on-demand servers.

The Power Racer 4120 is available as a COTS product or built-to-spec complete with pre-loaded software for various server applications. Arista configures each server with either Intel Pentium III or Pentium P4 CPUs, four hot-swappable SCA hard drive trays, third-party add-in boards and the buyer's choice of several different ISA or ISA/PCI backplane options for maximum flexibility in specific computer telephony applications. Supported operating systems include Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 95/98, Linux and Sun Solaris. Custom configurations with pre-loaded applications and operating software are also available.

"With front-accessible redundant AC/DC power supplies, hot-swappable cooling fans, and audible/visible/remote alarm notification, the Power Racer 4120 provides OEMs, systems integrators and value-added resellers a highly reliable system that ensures maximum system availability," said Paul Shu, director of business development.

"Five Nines" Server Performance
In order to ensure maximum "five nines" reliability to the user, the Power Racer 4120 features 2+1 450 watt "load-sharing" redundant power supplies. The load is automatically equally
balanced to ensure that each of three power supplies runs at cooler temperatures to extended life-span and maximum reliability. The complete power load is automatically transferred to two of the supplies if one fails. The supplies themselves are hot-swappable and can be changed in less than a minute. The Power Racer meets EIA RS-130C production standards, is CE compliant, and built-to-run in harsh environments, from 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit at 20 to 90 percent humidity.

Monitoring and Failure Notification
In the event of fan, power supply failure or overheating, the Power Racer 4120 provides audible alarm notification to alert the operator of segregating operational conditions and enables them to diagnose problems and remedy the condition. Front panel indicators include the status of chassis fans, temperature, and power supplies. Also available on the Power Racer chassis is the remote fan failure and over temperature monitor option, which allows monitoring over the Internet.

Pricing and Availability
Pricing for the Power Racer 4120 starts at $4,000 per unit. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks. Volume discounts are available. Contact Arista directly for sales. Please refer to Data Sheet Power Racer
