HOPKINTON, MA - Control Technology Corp., a leading manufacturer of automation controllers that integrate motion control, I/O, user interfaces, and enterprise connectivity, has released CTCopc, a 32-bit Windows OPC server application that provides real-time client access to CTC automation controllers and software applications. Conforming to both version 1.0 and 2.0 Data Access (OPC-DA) standards, CTCopc provides users with a non-proprietary, widely supported, bidirectional interface among several industrial controllers and with third-party applications. By using OPC technology, users can avoid using custom, single-vendor application programming interfaces (API's) and drivers that are traditionally required for exchanging data between factory-floor devices and the enterprise. Data from CTC controllers may be easily integrated with that of other OPC-compliant devices and managed remotely by third-party applications.
