IBM eServer BladeCenter T -- AC and DC Models -- Accommodates HS20 and HS40 Blade Servers for Telecommunications

Overview
The IBM eserver BladeCenter(TM) T models are high-performance blade
platforms for critical network applications in the
telecommunications industry. They contain the telecommunications
infrastructures that require networking equipment to support ac
and dc power environments.

The communications industry is going through a radical
transformation to open standards and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components.

IBM is making significant investments in Linux, Standards,
Offerings, and Partners to accelerate the transition to open standards and COTS for next-generation network (NGN) solutions.

IBM is leveraging enterprise volumes and leadership to afford
BladeCenter advantages to new markets (for example, telecommunications and other rugged environments).

BladeCenter T is a standards-based, NEBS-compliant, COTS platform designed to improve ROI for Service Providers (reducing the total cost of ownership and maximizing revenue
for next generation services). BladeCenter T's innovative modular design delivers high reliability and performance for NGN infrastructure in a very dense and low footprint profile.

BladeCenter T supports the Carrier Grade Open Framework (CGOF),
which is at the core of the IBM NGN Strategy to enable flexible NGN solution deployment.

NEBS Level 3/ETSI compliance (Planned): A minimum level of
environmental compatibility needed to provide maximum assurance of equipment operability with the network facility.

IBM eServer® BladeCenter HS20 Blade Server: A new model of our
HS20 Xeon DP blade server is available for use in the new
BladeCenter T chassis.

IBM eServer BladeCenter HS40 Blade Server: The HS40 offering
includes 2.7 GHz Xeon MP processors with 400 MHz FSB, 2 MB
L3 Cache, and 2 GB system memory, which can be upgraded to 16 GB
using 2 GB DIMMs.
