PDS 700 Series: Programmable Serial Port to Ethernet Device Server
The electronic revolution enabled the Internet and networking revolutions. With the VxComm utility, the built-in COM port on PDS-700 models can be virtualized to a standard COM port of a host PC. The 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port is fully featured with auto-negotiation, auto_MDIX and LED indicator while the RS-485 port is similarly sophisticated with its self-tuner ASIC controller. The modules in the PDS-700 series offer powerful programming functionality as device servers which run on ICP DAS's built-in MiniOS7.
These servers may be sophisticated, but delicate they are not. The serial ports provide +/-4KV ESD and the modules also employ power reverse polarity protection. The units feature fire retardant materials at the level of UL94-V0 and run smoothly in a temperature span of -25°C to +75°C.
