Datakey Electronics Announces New Serial Development Kit featuring Universal Reader/Writer



Burnsville, MN April 17, 2003 - Datakey Electronics, Inc. manufactures products for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), consisting of proprietary memory keys and other custom-shaped tokens containing non-volatile memory. Datakey Electronics has begun production of a new Serial Development Kit which includes 6 keys or tokens containing two Microwire(TM), two I²C, and two SPI memories, two Keyceptacles® or Receptacles (1 panel mount and 1 pc board mount), software CD, user manual, the new KeyLink(TM) II or SlimLink(TM) II reader/writer, connecting cable and power supply.

The Serial Software Development Kit will assist a programmer in developing key and token integration software utilizing the RS-232 serial interface or USB interface. The software developed with the Serial Development Kit will allow a user to program a key (or token) that will interface with the supplied keyceptacles (or token receptacles.) Datakey Electronics has provided the appropriate mating receptacles with the new Serial Development Kit to allow programmers/designers to quickly create a functional product model.
