Serial Card puts three RS232 ports in single slot.

Press Release Summary:

CYB 3232 cards put three RS232 ports on one PCI or ISA card. Each has three 9-pin male DB connectors, 16-byte FIFO buffers on each port, maximum data rates of 115,200 baud, and operating temperatures from 32 to 158 ºF. PCI card is fully Plug-and-Play, while ISA slots require card configuration. Both cards come with applications programs and drivers on CD. Supported operating systems include DOS, Windows 3.x, 95, 98, NT3.51, NT4, and OS/2.

Original Press Release:

Three Serial Ports on One Card!

Unique new 3-Port(TM) cards from CyberResearch, Inc., put three 115-kbaud RS-232 ports on one PCI or ISA card. The three 9-pin male DB connectors fit nicely on a single backplate. No wasted slots, no clumsy "octopus" cables. Just maximum convenience in minimum space.

You can easily find one and two-port cards. But engineers who needed an extra port have traditionally been forced to use another backplane slot to get it, or else to suffer the clumsiness and clutter of "octopus" cables.

Now, those who need an extra port can easily fit it onto a single slot. Our CYB 3232P (PCI) and CYB 3232A (ISA) cards offer maximum data rates of 115,200 baud, 16-byte FIFO buffers on each port, and operating temperatures from 0 to 70 deg C (32 to 158 deg F).

The PCI card is fully Plug-and-Play. ISA slots require card configuration, but the user- friendly manual for the ISA card (CYB 3232A) includes detailed configuration instructions. Both cards come with an extensive collection of applications programs and drivers on CD. Supported operating systems include DOS, Windows 3.x, 95, 98, NT3.51, NT4, and OS/2. In addition, drivers for Windows 2000 are provided with the PCI card.

The software is especially valuable because it supports not only these two cards, but also all of the other serial communication cards in the CyberResearch CYB, CYBD, and CYBM families. Software drivers support any mix of RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 handshake schemes, along with all baud rates available from these PCI, PCMCIA, and ISA cards.

Test and terminal-emulation software for the cards is provided in both compiled form and source-code form. The terminal-emulation source code is documented to show the action of each programming function.

Among CyberResearch's other serial-port families, CYBD cards offer data-transfer rates up to 230.4 kbaud and protection against a maximum 10kV of electrostatic discharge. The CYBM family offers speeds up to 921.5 kbaud and optional optical isolation of ±1,500Vdc and 1,000Vac.
