New Multi-Stream Sequencers from Waters Equip. Co. Save Space and Cost in Water Sampling Installation Areas

Lansdale, PA, July 2002 - Waters Equipment Company has introduced a new line of Multi-Stream Sequencers, designed to share analyzers among multiple sample streams in order to save money and minimize space within the installation area or sample panel.

Waters standard sequencers can accommodate up to eight incoming sample streams for use within a single analyzer (batch or continuously measuring). Custom sequencers can be designed to integrate multiple analyzers, with multiple streams, into one convenient, operator-friendly package. Waters offers features that are designed specifically for on-line power plant instruments, not normally offered on any other commercially available sequencers.

Waters Multi-Stream Sequencers are PLC-controlled and feature adjustable sample dwell, delay and cycle length. They can be run in manual or automatic operation. Sample flow is fully controllable with concentration adjustment, providing additional acclimation period when cycling between samples of vastly differing concentrations, as well as with a stream bypass function.

Also featured is a compact LCD display with membrane keypad and remote stream indication contacts for use by plant DCS to determine the origin of the measurement signal.

Waters Multi-Stream Sequencers feature durable construction with 2-way solenoid operated valves. All sample-wetted parts are stainless steel. Voltages available are 24 VDC, 120 VAC and 240 VAC.

Optional on the Multi-Stream Sequencer is a color touch screen operator station, featuring a menu-driven program with various icon and numerical screens providing macro and micro views of the sequence process. Screen related background as well as set point changes can be made directly from the operator station. The user can also input field sample descriptions or tag numbers, making it easier to associate data with the appropriate stream. Other options include: liquid bypass (which uses 3-way solenoids and a drain line to eliminate dead-legs on streams not currently being measured); unit bypass; remote stream pause; a track-and-hold feature (provides analog signals to DCS for all streams); annunciator alarm outputs; and a NEMA-rated enclosure.
