Original Press Release:

Rotex® Minerals Separator(TM) Provides Unsurpassed Screening Performance for Minerals Applications

CINCINNATI, OH (October 27, 2003) - The new ROTEX® Minerals Separator(TM) is the perfect solution for your demanding minerals screening needs. The Minerals Separator provides unsurpassed screening performance when sharp separations and high efficiencies are required, and maximizes product recoveries at material temperatures up to 400° F.

The Minerals Separator is specifically designed for applications in mined minerals and abrasives such as sand, roofing granules, potash, salt, clay, borax and many other high capacity applications. The unique elliptical-linear motion of the Minerals Separator provides excellent screening performance through equal feed distribution to all screen decks, uniform bed-depth across the entire screen surface, and aggressive blinding control.

The stacked, multiple-deck, tray access design allows for individual screen access without the need to remove all decks. A patented Lift-Rail system with non-binding stainless steel cam activation, enables easy screen frame installation and removal. Single decks can be changed in ten minutes - all twelve decks in two hours. A screen deck slope of 6° maximizes screen efficiency and meets demanding product specifications.

An easily accessible external drive cartridge allows continuous operation at temperatures up to 400° F (205° C). The single reaction cartridge with two spherical roller bearings is designed for 200,000 hours of service. The Minerals Separator utilizes a support shaft suspension system with industrial U-joint bearings and no-maintenance. low torsion center springs. An optional floor-mounted suspension stand is available for installations without overhead support. Abrasion-resistant steel construction and "rockbox" landing areas allow for repeated impact on high-wear surfaces.

The Minerals Separator incorporates a new silicone seal system that press fits into place without adhesives. The seal is universal throughout the machine providing exceptional sealing between screen decks on fine separations. A unique sleeveless brush system on the discharge doors eliminates traditional connecting sleeves for quicker screen deck access. Integral vent connections enable enhanced dust control on dustier materials.

The performance of the Minerals Separator has already been proven, with Rotex recently being awarded a $2.5 million contract for 19 new Minerals Separators. These machines will be installed late next year in a plant in North America as part of a new expansion project.
