Sentillion vBusiness' Packaged Desktop Virtualization Solution, vThere(TM), Receives RSA Secured® Certification

Sentillion Joins RSA Secured® Partner Program to Provide Secure User Two- Factor Authentication for Remote Virtualized Desktops

ANDOVER, Mass., March 6 / - Sentillion vBusiness, a division of Sentillion, Inc., today announced that its packaged desktop virtualization solution, vThere(TM), has been awarded RSA Secured® certification with RSA SecurID®, signaling its interoperability with industry leading two-factor authentication technology from RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE:EMC). Additionally, Sentillion joined the RSA Secured Partner Program.

vThere is a packaged virtualized desktop solution, which leverages virtualization technology to create a corporate managed secure end-point that runs on any contemporary Microsoft® Windows®-based workstation. End points at remote locations such as a virtual call center agent's home office are secured and controlled by creating corporate virtual computers, which run on, but are isolated from, the underlying unmanaged PC. As a result of the technology partnership between Sentillion and RSA through the RSA Secured Partner Program, end-users who are running a vThere image on their unmanaged PC can use their RSA SecurID token to enable two-factor authentication to a corporate computer network from a remote or mobile location.

"Our RSA Secured certification enables Sentillion customers to enjoy an added level of network security when deploying vThere. We are proud that RSA has certified that vThere adheres to the policies and requirements set forth by RSA SecurID technology," said David Fusari, vice president & CTO for Sentillion.

"An effective strategy to protect identities and secure information access enables businesses to build the confidence that corporate data is being accessed securely by customers, partners and employees." said Stuart Cohen, director of partner development at RSA, The Security Division of EMC. "The RSA Secured technology partnership between Sentillion and RSA helps enterprises efficiently and cost-effectively manage the digital identities of diverse constituencies regardless of their location."

Remote workers, including teleworkers, virtual call center employees, contractors, business partners, or temporarily displaced employees, require access to corporate applications and data in order to be productive. This presents serious technology and security challenges because the IT department has the added responsibility of deploying and managing remote desktops, while also trying to navigate the complex security challenges associated with remote access into the enterprise. vThere is designed to help organizations overcome these challenges in a simple, cost-effective and secure manner.

The RSA SecurID system is the world's most widely used two-factor user authentication solution. It is as simple to use as entering a password, but significantly more secure. Used in conjunction with RSA Authentication Manager software, an RSA SecurID authenticator functions like an ATM card for a company network, requiring users to identify themselves with two unique factors - something they know (a password or PIN), and something they have (such as an RSA SecurID key fob token) - before they are granted access to secure business information.
