Sensors increase control quality of EHR systems.

Press Release Summary:

Both AN2/30 angle sensor and KMB4 draft sensor enhance quality of electrohydraulic hitch control (EHR) systems. Former utilizes non-contact measuring principle that permits all measuring ranges up to 360°. Configuration of several Hall elements renders sensor insensitive to mechanical tolerances and temperature. With KMB4 draft sensor, measuring element is permanently secured in sleeve via crimp technology. This minimizes hysteresis and increases characteristic-curve stability.

New Rexroth Sensors Increase Control Quality of EHR Systems

New third-generation angle sensor (AN2/30, left) and draft sensor (KMB4, right) from Rexroth enhance the quality of electrohydraulic hitch control systems. The quality of an electrohydraulic hitch control (EHR) system is also dependent on its "information suppliers". Rexroth therefore developed a new generation of EHR sensors for angular and draft measurement. These new components are characterized by sturdy design, high precision, a wide range of possible applications and ease of installation. The AN2/30 is the third generation of EHR angle sensors from Rexroth. The sensor operates according to a non-contact measuring principle which permits all measuring ranges up to 360 degrees and thus a greater range of possible applications. The configuration of several Hall elements makes the sensor insensitive to mechanical tolerances and temperature. With 200 V/m from 1 MHz to 1 GHz (and 100 V/m from 1 GHz to 4 GHz), the electromagnetic compatibility of the AN2/30 has been increased. Adaptation of the sensor's overall characteristic curve on the output side ensures that it assumes a defined value outside the nominal range. Thus, when mounted on a tractor, the sensor is able to immediately recognize and correct the orientation of a shaft, which is inverted through 180 degrees. The AN2/30 is powered by Rexroth EHR-B or SRC ECUs (8 V to 10.4 V). The Rexroth KMB4 draft sensor offers a range of optimized properties with regard to characteristic curve, overload and wear. On the one hand, the measuring element is permanently secured in the sleeve by means of the new crimp technology. This procedure, for which a patent application has been filed, provides for a clearly reduced hysteresis above all in smaller measuring ranges. At the same time it offers increased characteristic-curve stability in the event of overload and less readjustment effort after an overload. On the other hand, the sleeve used for all load ranges is through-hardened and therefore demonstrates increased resistance to wear.
