Olea Unveils OleaVision(TM) for Human Presence Detection
Major Advance for IoT and Auto, Industrial, Smart Home & Security Markets
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Olea Sensor Networks, a leader in intelligent sensors and analytic software for mobile and cloud-based service solutions, unveiled its OleaVision(TM) sensor system, which has the unique ability to differentiate between live animate beings and inanimate objects up to a five-meter distance for both moving and stationary applications.
This revolutionary technology trumps other less advanced technologies in its ability to "see" a living being, even through walls and regardless of whether the monitored subject is moving or motionless, and to distinguish between human and animal presence and movement. OleaVision has broad application in the automotive/transportation, industrial, smart home and security systems markets for pedestrian and bystander detection, animate-being detection (such as a sleeping child or pet accidentally left behind in a closed vehicle), collision avoidance, intrusion detection, fire safety and energy management.
"We know of no other sensor on the market today that has OleaVision's detection range and discernment capabilities, which are urgently needed for many important applications. For example, vehicle and industrial equipment producers are seeking advanced safety capabilities to prevent the many thousands of deaths that occur annually from vehicle and mobile industrial equipment colliding with pedestrians and bystanders. OleaVision can help to save these lives and significantly reduce the liabilities faced by OEM's as well as vehicle and equipment operators," explained Frank Morese, Olea CEO and founder. "OleaVision builds on the capabilities of our intelligent IoT sensor platform, which is based on our proprietary embedded advanced algorithms and sensor analytic technologies."
About Olea's Intelligent Sensors and Analytic Software
The OS-3001 Intelligent Multi-Sensor Platform, the flagship product Olea launched in 2013 specifically for non-clinical R&D use, is a handheld/wearable, wireless, intelligent, multi-sensor data acquisition platform in a form factor the size of a typical smartphone. It serves as a sensor hub with various on-board intelligent sensors. This feature-rich platform, now in its third generation, does not require direct contact with the monitored subject and is designed for use with Olea's sensor analytics software and, optionally, its cloud-based service solutions that take full advantage of Olea's IoT Intelligent Partitioning Architecture. OleaVision's breakthrough technology further extends this Olea platform with increasingly advanced intelligent sensors and sensor networks.
Olea Sensor Networks (incorporated as Olea Systems, Incorporated) develops intelligent sensors and analytic software that promise to revolutionize mobile and cloud-based service solutions for a wide variety of applications, including connected car, connected care, smart home and identity access management, using the "Internet of Things" (IoT) machine-to-machine (M2M) communications infrastructure.
