Tiny Instrumentation Amp Supports Advanced Process Monitoring
Amherst, NY (March 8, 2006) - A new sensor amplifier from Kistler Instrument advances signal conditioning for industrial process monitoring. The type 5030A... MiniAmp series of charge amplifiers is so small, less than 1.5 inches square, and lightweight that it can be mounted strategically close to the sensor, even on moving machinery components. Often the location of the sensor is critical and this amp can be conveniently integrated into machinery, with the wiring dressed out of harm's way. The single channel amplifier input accepts any piezoelectric sensor operating in high impedance, charge mode. Momentary data events, often lost with strain gage instrumentation, are reproduced exactly due to its wide bandwidth. With two measuring ranges, it can be digitally switched, while in operation.
The rugged enclosure is watertight at protection level IP65 to withstand production floor environments. The digital electronics enable easy integration into industrial control systems for monitoring and process quality improvement.
