SenSage Teams with HP to Provide Energy Industry with New Solution to Reduce Security Risks, Boost Compliance

SenSage event data management software provides key data collection and analysis functionality for the HP Trusted Compliance Solution for Energy appliance

SAN FRANCISCO, May 15 -- Enterprise software leader SenSage, Inc., today announced that its event data management software is included in the new HP Trusted Compliance Solution for Energy (HP TCS-e) appliance announced today by HP (view the press release at: http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press/2007/070515a.html).

The HP TCS-e is a specialized security appliance that combines SenSage event data management software with HP's FIPS 140-2 Level 4-certified hardware-based security subsystem, compliance automation software and storage technology. The new solution is designed to make it easier for energy operators to meet the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) 2006 Critical Information Protection 002-009 requirements for cyber security, compliance and audit.

Event data records -- also known as log data -- are created whenever time-stamped transactions occur in the enterprise IT infrastructure. The retention of log data and the ability for corporations to quickly inspect these records have become vital to businesses, not only for meeting audit readiness and regulatory compliance, but also for detecting suspicious activity, insider threats and other security breaches.

"Collecting and analyzing massive amounts of event log data has become a cornerstone requirement for regulatory compliance," said Frank Bien, vice president of products and alliances of SenSage. "SenSage's turnkey event data management software platform lets our customers quickly and cost-effectively capture and query volumes of log data so that relevant business information is available whenever needed. As a technology leader, HP recognizes these requirements. We're delighted to be teaming with HP on the delivery of the HP Integrity server-based TCS-e solution and anticipate expanding our relationship to additional markets where compliance is a key pain point."

SenSage's software solution is standards-based and optimized for use in an appliance model, and works with a variety of off-the-shelf hardware. Its flexible, componentized architecture makes it easy for solution providers to customize for specific market needs at a fraction of the cost of general- purpose data warehouse software. SenSage's approach blends a high degree of performance with an array of administrative, management, analytics and reporting capabilities to meet the most stringent of compliance and regulatory requirements.

"In response to myriad industry and regulatory compliance requirements, systems and solutions providers must further automate and better integrate event data management capabilities," said Jon Oltsik, Enterprise Strategy Group senior analyst. "SenSage's advanced event data management and analysis technology offers a compelling solution for companies to meet growing audit and investigation challenges."

SenSage software is well suited to meet customer demands in highly regulated, transaction-intensive industries including energy, finance, healthcare and government. For more information on industry-specific solutions, please visit sensage.com/English/Solutions/solutions-compliance.htm .
