SENCORE Introduces the IRD 3000 Line of Cost-Effective Receiver/Decoders Suitable for Multiple Applications

LAS VEGAS - April 12, 2010 - SENCORE, a leading provider of signal quality and video delivery solutions, today introduced a new line of cost-effective receiver/decoders designed for the distribution of video services in any network with a targeted application in mind. Suitable for the international and domestic broadcast, satellite, cable, hospitality, and IPTV markets, the SENCORE IRD 3000 receiver/decoder line fits easily into existing SD infrastructure and offers facilities a cost-effective, field-upgradable upgrade path to HD for the future.

"Our new receiver/decoder line was thoughtfully designed to provide an economically sensitive solution for our customers, including Asian and European content producers who are anticipating full digital rollout in the very near future," said Thomas Stingley, executive vice president of sales and marketing at SENCORE. "While the four products within the IRD 3000 line are new, each can be installed with total confidence because they are based on SENCORE engineering technology with a proven track record in the field. Like all SENCORE products, those in the IRD 3000 family are backed by unparalleled support and reliability."

The IRD 3000 line provides satellite RF, MPEGoIP (MPEG over Internet Protocol), and ASI transport stream inputs, and outputs are available as digital SDI or analog composite video. While cost-effective, the IRD 3000 line does not compromise on features; it provides a complete solution set for all types of professional broadcast applications. Additionally, IRD 3000 products are equipped to decode both MPEG-4/H.264 and MPEG-2 formats, so there is no need to upgrade the device if a content provider moves from one codec to the other.

The new IRD 3000 line features four products: the IRD 3030 (input DVB-S2, output composite), IRD 3035 (input DVB-S2, output SDI), IRD 3040 (input IP, output composite), and IRD 3045 (input IP, output SDI). The devices, which are fully compliant with the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) and Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standards, are on display this week at the 2010 NAB Show (booth SU4310) and will be available in June.
