Selecting the Right Safety Management Metrics - series (1)

At its core, a safety management system consists of processes established to achieve the outcomes you want. These outcomes are referred to as "intended outcomes" in the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) management system standards.

Like the ISO management system standards, Three Sixty Safety establishes a prescribed sequence in which safety processes should be structured to achieve optimum results. The key to improving your intended outcomes is to make incremental process improvement changes that have been established to achieve the outcomes you want.  The challenge for many companies is choosing the appropriate performance indicators.  Over a series of blogs I will discuss what safety management metrics we believe will help you achieve your goals.

Look for the next blog in this series covering the importance of using a mix of key performance indicators.
