Clear, See-Through Plastic Basket Strainer Simplifies Maintenance

Hayward's new, clear all plastic simplex basket strainer makes it possible to see just how much dirt and debris the strainer basket has trapped. This helps to determine when the basket needs to be cleaned. Manufactured from the plastic Eastar, the strainer is extremely rugged and will stand up to demanding industrial and commercial applications. And because the strainer is plastic, it will never rust, corrode or contaminate the process media the way a metal strainer could. These new clear basket strainers are designed to protect piping system component such as nozzles, instrumentation, and pumps from damage caused by particulate matter in the system flow. Over time these see-through strainers will pay for themselves in reduced maintenance and downtime costs. They are also used as a pre-filter before a bag or cartridge filter to extend the life of the filter media, thus reducing media costs and downtime for filter media change-outs. These strainers can be used to remove a wide size range of particulate matter from 1/2" down to 40 microns. Hayward's clear pipeline strainer has been designed for easy strainer basket cleaning. The "spin-off' cover is hand removal without the need for tools of any kind. Just open the cover, remove, clean and replace the dirty basket, spin the cover back on and the system is back on-line with a minimal amount of expensive downtime. These new see-through plastic basket strainers from Hayward Industrial Products Inc. are available in sizes for pipelines from 1" and 2" in NPT threaded or 150# ANSI flanged connections with a Viton® o-ring cover seal.
