Company's M2M Technology Platform Recognized for Application of Machine-to-Machine Technology in Location & Mobile Emergency Response Products

CARY, N.C. - Securus, Inc., a leading provider of advanced mobile safety and security solutions, announced today that it has received a 2014 M2M Evolution Business Impact Awards from TMC and Crossfire Media which was announced at the M2M Evolution Conference & Expo, held January 29-31, 2014, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. The Business Impact Awards program recognized a select group of companies and business leaders who have successfully leveraged M2M and the Internet of Things (IoT) to solve a business issue, launch a new service or create revenue opportunities.

CEO Tom Collopy accepted the award for Securus, which was one of only seven recipients selected from more than 50 nominees.

"It is truly an honor to be recognized among this elite group of industry visionaries for our work in building M2M solutions that provide valuable, life-saving services," Collopy said. "I believe we've only scratched the surface of the many ways M2M and IoT technologies can improve our daily lives, and it's exciting to be on the front lines working to push the industry forward."

The Securus range of location and emergency response technologies provide peace of mind and security for parents, caregivers and small businesses. Its eCare+Voice and eResponder solutions enable seniors to quickly connect to an emergency care specialist if needed and help caregivers and adult children of aging parents stay in touch and reconnect with their loved ones in the event of an emergency. The Securus eZoom line provides real-time GPS location for children and teen drivers to keep parents informed of their children's whereabouts in a simple, nonintrusive way that balances independence with safety and peace of mind.

The eZoom line can also be used for fleet tracking and asset protection to ensure maximum business efficiency and fast recovery in the event of theft. Meanwhile, the SpotLite 2.0 product, along with AKC Reunite, helps concerned pet owners locate and reunite with lost pets.

"The Business Impact Awards showcase the wealth of opportunity to be found in M2M and IoT technology across a broad range of industries and for a variety of business needs and applications," said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content, M2M Evolution.
