RF Technologies® Announces Version 7 Software for Safe Place® Security Solutions

Latest release delivers workflow and security improvements

BROOKFIELD, Wis., -- RF Technologies®, a leading provider of radio frequency identification monitoring systems and healthcare security solutions, is announcing the release of Version 7 software for use with Safe Place® Infant and Pediatric Security Solutions. The software, which controls and monitors the anti-abduction system, contains workflow and security enhancements designed to make it the industry's most robust and nurse-friendly system.

"The software's consolidated function menus, improved census view and updated icons make it easier for nurses to access important information and complete tasks quickly," stated David Barden, National Sales Director for RF Technologies.

A new pre-enroll function allows staff to admit an infant or child before he or she is banded, giving staff more time for patient care. The feature can be configured for use with part or all of the system, and works side by side with Safe Place's existing admit functionality.

Version 7 software increases patient and data security with improved system access features. Configurable user access types simplify the addition of new staff to the system, and inactivity and log out settings protect system data, keeping patient personal information safe and secure.

Supports new Smart Sense(TM) technology

Hospitals will be able to enhance tamper detection and accommodate infant weight loss by using RF Technologies' Smart Sense transmitters and bands in tandem with Version 7 software. The soft, stretchy banding, when combined with intuitive sensing technology in the transmitter, uses three distinct measurements to determine when a band is loose, has been tampered with or has fallen off a patient.

"The combination of Smart Sense transmitters and bands with Version 7 software results in higher reliability and fewer nuisance alarms than other touch and skin-sensing security products," said Barden. "The settings are easily customized to provide the best coverage for the full range of hospital environments."

Version 7 software is currently being quoted and will ship with systems starting this month.
