Secure Computing Introduces Commandcenter for Significantly Improved Enterprise Management Capability

New fully-integrated policy management tools greatly simplify deploying and managing firewalls throughout the enterprise

November 6, 2007
Secure Computing Corporation (NASDAQ: SCUR), a leading enterprise gateway security company, has announced the Middle East launch of CommandCenter(TM), a new central management product for Secure Computing Sidewinder® and SnapGear® network gateway security appliances. With CommandCenter, enterprises gain efficient command and control for deployments of 10, 50 or even hundreds of firewalls.

Secure Computing CommandCenter simplifies network security management by enabling the creation and enforcement of security policies and policy changes quickly, easily and accurately across the entire networking infrastructure. Robust, fault-tolerant, comprehensive and flexible, it consists of several fully-integrated capabilities for managing the network from edge to core, including the following:

o Configuration - Powerful and easy rule creation, validation, and distribution that is optimized with wizards to quickly merge similar rules, delete duplicate rules and create VPNs.

o Administration - Flexible administrative functions based on individual roles that enable efficient central management of multiple domains or enterprises.

o Reporting - Secure Computing's SecurityReporter(TM) provides personalized graphical real-time monitoring, detailed reports for regulatory compliance and a multitude of additional security metrics needed for efficient management.

o Upgrade management - Automated upgrade management that eliminates vulnerabilities by ensuring the latest software updates and patches are implemented. The product also tracks and applies release updates to an unlimited number of devices.

The virtual central management capability of Secure Computing CommandCenter simplifies monitoring multiple firewall appliances across many domains or enterprises, and is ideal for large distributed organizations or providers offering managed services. Creating "virtual instances" of CommandCenter keeps configuration separate between enterprises and ensures that information cannot be shared improperly.

"Secure Computing is well recognized for its advanced technology, and was the first to integrate reputation-based technology into its firewalls to protect against unknown threats," said Sami Mulla, Director of Middle East & Africa, Secure Computing. "The launch of the new Secure Computing CommandCenter in the Middle East gives our firewall customers compelling advantages in managing their network security infrastructures easily and securely."

Organizations also gain a better understanding of their policies from both a regulatory and overall network security perspective, with the bundled SecurityReporter, which completes the firewall investment by turning audit and log data "noise" into actionable information. It automatically aggregates and correlates data and then alerts administrators to real-time security threats for immediate action. The SecurityReporter also takes the pain out of regulatory compliance with complete template reports and forensic analysis tools, enabling administrators to easily demonstrate the value of their Secure Computing firewall deployments and satisfy audit requirements in regulations and standards such as PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley.

The ability to do all of this with one CommandCenter appliance provides perhaps the greatest ROI to most organizations by reducing the time and effort needed to manage their firewall infrastructure.
