Breakthrough Sectional Door Design Increases Safety and Efficiency

MILWAUKEE-- The new WORKHORSE(TM) 1000 sectional door from Rite-Hite Doors, addresses ergonomic concerns, minimizes maintenance and energy costs, and reduces exposure to unsafe situations created by conventional sectional door damage in a simple design.

The WORKHORSE 1000 features the exclusive Lite-Lift(TM) System, which includes enclosed counterweights for consistent, ergonomic operation. This is an improvement over traditional spring-counterbalanced designs that tend to lose their tension over time, causing the door to drift down into the opening. With the Lite-Lift system, the Workhorse 1000 clears the opening, minimizing the risk of impact due to this "door drift-down".

WORKHORSE 1000 also features a unique breakaway system to help minimize maintenance costs. The Quick-Fix(TM) design utilizes nylon breakaway blocks in conjunction with standard nylon rollers. If the door is impacted, the roller assembly pivots to release the door. Reattachment is both easy and ergonomic, and no tools or special parts are needed.

The impactability of the WORKHORSE 1000 is further enhanced by the rugged panel
construction. WORKHORSE 1000's sections contain a strong steel frame, and an interior of tough Aketon(TM) facing that does not utilize rivets. And the durable aluminum exterior facing provides both strength and security. If added security is required, an optional hold-down device can be utilized. When engaged, the unique device prevents unwanted entry, yet retains the impactability of the door. When the device is padlocked, the breakaway feature is disabled, providing an even higher level of security.

The energy efficiency of a facility is improved by the WORKHORSE 1000's insulated inner core and superior full perimeter seal. Full-width compression seals help prevent energy loss between the panels, while track mounted vertical seals, a rubber astragal, and a solid lintel seal complete the full perimeter seal, which works to block out the elements.
