Original Press Release:

O-Z/Gedney Expanded Fill Sealing Fittings Allow for Uninterrupted Runs in Conduit Systems

SKOKIE, IL, March 29, 2002 O-Z/Gedney has introduced a new line of expanded fill sealing fittings that provide forty-percent conductor fill capacity. Because of their greater wire capacity, O-Z/Gedney EYAX sealing fittings are ideal for contractors who want to make fewer connections while assuring greater reliability at a lower installed cost.

Standard sealing fittings permit only four wires and a maximum 25 percent fill in one-inch conduit. O-Z/Gedney EYAX fittings, however, allow six wires, resulting in a 40 percent fill, and makes possible uninterrupted runs in IMC or rigid conduit systems. They also eliminate the need for costly oversized fittings and reducing bushings.

A key feature is the enlarged access opening that facilitates faster, easier and more accurate wire separation, along with a large cover opening for effective packing of fiber dam. The fittings have smooth integral hub bushings to prevent insulation damage that could compromise an electrical system's performance. NPT tapered hubs ensure ground continuity.

EYAX Sealing Fittings are UL(R) Listed for hazardous locations (Class, Div.1&2). They are constructed from malleable iron, and are available in trade sizes from 1/2-inch to 3-inches.
