Original Press Release:

DDI's DustProof 1000 Provides Uptime Performance in Adverse Environments

Dynamic Decisions, Inc. (DDI) announces the first low cost solution to address dust and hardware overheating. The Defender Series 1000 offers a range of computer and server systems specifically designed for dirty environments.

Dust accumulation is one of the biggest challenges to computer overheating and longevity. Systems deployed in construction, warehousing, mining, on shop floors and military applications are easily compromised when foreign particles clog vents and adhere to internal components.

Until DDI studied the problem, users employed various fixes, from make-shift covers to costly, environmentally-suspect liquid-cooled isolation boxes, to protect IT hardware. The DustProof 1000 is a low cost, fully sealed computer, which is no bigger than a full-size desk-top tower, requiring no special care.

Featuring an all-aluminum housing and a thermoelectric cooling system, DustProofs can be configured to meet the exact requirements of new applications or existing system upgrades. They are ideal for any application where ambient air containing high particulate concentration is reducing a computer's useful life.

In addition to the benefits of a fully isolated housing, other innovations built into the DustProof 1000 include:

Up-front connection block for all component connections

Remote component DVD drive and optional remote connection block

Solid state hard drive(s)

Removable side panels for easy internal access

DDI, has been making custom-configured computer hardware for over 25 years. The firm is best known as the largest computer parts supplier to the Defense Logistics Agency. "Our experience serving the special needs of the US Military provided a unique insight into the challenges facing industries using computers and sensitive electronic equipment in adverse conditions," said Alan Fan, DDI's President. "Our goal was to design a product that could function efficiently and reliably, and still be cost-effective."

The Defender Series computers start under $1,900.00 and can be fully customized. A full line of industrial-grade computer hardware, parts and accessories are also available from the manufacturer.
