RSBT 3-Phase Scroll Compressor Softstarter: From Carlo Gavazzi the New Compact Solution to Optimize Current Reduction

RSBT reduces current inrush up to 65% without any external setting.

Lainate - Carlo Gavazzi Automation - the international electronics Group with activities in designing, manufacturing and marketing of electronic equipment, presents the new RSBT: a 3-phase soft-starting solution for scroll compressors, mainly used in heat pumps, that the European Commission mentioned in a recent Directive promoting a 20% use of Renewable Energy Sources by 2020.

In fact, heat pumps are one of the most cost-effective technologies to replace fossil-fueled heating equipment. According to the International Energy Agency BLUE Map Scenario, heat pumps could contribute for 80% to total emission reductions needed by 2015.

Developed by Carlo Gavazzi engineering team in Malta, the RSBT is equipped with an innovative auto-adaptive algorithm, that reduces energy consumption each time compressor starts, by self adjusting appropriate parameters. In this way, it limits current inrush up to 65%,compared to DOL starting.

RSBT is compliant with Class B (residential) requirements for emissions, does not need any external settings and is provided with a very compact housing (45 mm).
