New Elsner Screen Winder & Wrapper
Elsner Engineering Works, Inc. has introduced their new model ESW-48 screen winder and wrapper for rewinding and wrapping aluminum wire screen or fiberglass insect window screening. Cut lengths of 7-25 feet (2.1-7.6 m) are standard and options allow rolls up to 100 feet (31 m) to be produced. Roll width ranges from 24 to 48 inches (610 to 1220 m) and finished roll diameter is up to 4.25 inches (108 mm).
Up to twenty rolls per minute can be produced with an average running speed of 150 feet per minute (45 meters per minute) depending on roll cut length. Aluminum wire screen can be rewound coreless and fiberglass screen can be rewound coreless in longer self-supporting lengths and on a core for shorter lengths.
An integral wrapper automatically introduces the wrapping film into the extended tail of the roll as it exits the rolling head area for wrapping of shrink film around the roll for several revolutions. Overwrap shrink film rolls up to 54 inches (137 mm) wide and 10 inches (250 mm) in diameter can be used. After wrapping, the roll ends are automatically tucked and shrunk. A loose paper label inserter as well as a pressure sensitive closure labeler are also available.
A single rolling head is utilized for approximately a 1-1 1/16 inch (42.8 mm) inside diameter. A single position unwind handles master rolls up to 40 inch (1 m) diameter on 3 inch (76 mm) inside diameter cardboard core. An unwind air shaft is included. The Elsner model EPT-1 automatic tension control is standard. Automatic edge guiding has a plus/minus 2 inch (50 mm) sidelay adjustment. Also standard is an electronic cut-off
with a rotary shear type square edge straight cut-off.
The ESW-48 programmable logic controller and touch screen operator interface allows fast, simple and precise set up and also provides machine diagnostics. Servo controls on the machine make set-up easy and provide operational repeatability and exceptional accuracy.
