Finmatica SCM Announces FINeCHAIN Release 3.0, Rolls Out Industry Specific Solutions

New FINeCHAIN Collaborative Supply Chain Planning release targets demand-driven enterprises across industries; vertical solutions for 3 key markets

Milan, Italy, September 15, 2003: Finmatica SCM today announced Release 3.0 of FINeCHAIN, the Extended SCM suite that addresses extensive customer Collaborative Supply Chain Planning (CSCP) issues from demand forecasting & planning to collaborative manufacturing planning and production scheduling. FINeCHAIN 3.0 includes a series of enhancements to help demand-driven enterprises reduce inventory levels, develop realistic forecasts through collaborative planning and production scheduling and improve customer satisfaction levels. The release provides key CSCP functionality across industries including CPG, Food & Beverage, Specialty Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Medical.

In addition to the core CSCP solution, Release 3.0 provides three industry specific FINeCHAIN solutions - FINeCHAIN Control Laboratory & Manufacturing Solution, FINeCHAIN Service Parts Solution and FINeCHAIN Complex Manufacturing Solution - targeted at the Specialty Chemical & Pharmaceutical industries, Service Parts aftermarkets and complex manufacturing companies respectively.

The packages have been formulated based on the extensive domain knowledge Finmatica has gleaned by working with leading companies in these industries over the past decade such as Sanofi-Synthélabo, GlaxoSmithKline, Aventis, GM, Saturn, TRW, Arcelor, EADS and ALSTOM. This new focus will allow Finmatica to provide more value to companies in these industries through dedicated suites that address industry specific issues.

"Given the high number of generic ERP and SCM vendors in the market today, specialization is becoming an increasingly important factor in winning deals and helping clients to derive fast benefits from solutions," explained René Desvignes, executive vice-president, Finmatica SCM. "Gone are the days of long paybacks and business cases with unproven ROI. Industry specific product strategies address faster implementation and ROI requirements while industry fit, functional depth and integration expertise are key for supporting the best practices of demand-driven supply chain processes. Our focused domain expertise allows us to hit the ground running at implementation time, saving our clients time and money," continued Desvignes.

FINeCHAIN Collaborative Supply Chain Planning Release 3.0 Highlights:
FINeCHAIN 3.0 combines important releases of the demand forecasting and collaborative manufacturing planning and production scheduling modules of the suite. Enhancements to the demand planning suite include:
o Improved supply chain visibility - Web based supply chain collaboration for forecasting and planning with customers and suppliers. In particular for the Food & Beverage and CPG marketplaces, new features have been included to deal with Shelf Life and Daily Forecasting, while further enhancements have been made to the Vendor Managed Inventory functionality.
o Performance improvements - Significant performance enhancements over previous versions for key routines including month-end, scheduling calculations, exception retrieval and net forecast population. Internal tests have shown a decrease of more than 50% in processing time for many of these core routines, above all in very large database environments.
o Additional language support - The release also adds language support for French and Italian to appeal to increasingly global client organizations.

In the manufacturing planning and production scheduling modules, new features include:
o Enhanced web-based collaborative event management with input from planners or collaborators, regardless of location
o GUI (Graphical User Interface) improvements and customizations - KPI (Key Performance Indicators) dashboard for better monitoring and fast intervention
o Enhanced planning & scheduling simulation capabilities
o Improvements in load levelling engines
o Powerful performance, security and administration improvements throughout
