GLENDALE, Calif., March 8 / -- Panda Software presents the new Panda GateDefender Performa, the high-performance SCM (Secure Content Management) appliance that protects the corporate network perimeter. Thanks to its anti-malware, anti-spam and Web filtering features, it fulfils all the security needs of network administrators -- detecting and eliminating any threat, removing junk mail and protecting employees against accessing unproductive Web content. These new appliances reinforce the GateDefender 8000 series, which has already received the recognition of both ICSA Labs and NSS for GateDefender 8200.

This is all available through a powerful interface designed to combine maximum functionality with simplicity.

Panda GateDefender Performa scans the six most widely-used protocols (HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 and NNTP), and can transparently process up to 350 messages per second in SMTP and up to 170Mbps in HTTP traffic. The malware signature file is automatically updated every 90 minutes. It combines proactive and reactive protection by using both continuously updated signature files along with a powerful heuristic detection engine to seek out threats that have not been cataloged. The appliance is administered through a Web console, allowing for secure remote management from any computer across HTTPS.
GateDefender Performa is available in three models: Panda GateDefender Performa 8050 (up to 25 users), Panda GateDefender Performa 8100 (from 26 to 500 users) and Panda GateDefender Performa 8200 (over 500 users).
