Original Press Release:

Superior Capability with New JLG® Rough Terrain Scissor Lifts

McConnellsburg, PA, May 24, 2002 - Two new rough terrain scissor lifts from JLG Industries, Inc. provide more platform space and greater load capacity along with exceptional gradeability for more productive work in all types of job site conditions. The Model 3394RT has a 33-ft. platform height and 2,250-lb. platform capacity, and the Model 4394RT has a 43-ft. platform height and 1,500-lb. platform capacity.

With a load management system for the fuel injected engine that prevents the engine from bogging-down in extreme rough terrain conditions, a dual pump hydraulic drive and 3-speed selectable drive controls, they have the ability to handle exceptionally difficult situations with a job tested 45% gradeability. The standard oscillating axle helps maintain traction and 15-in. super wide tires increase flotation for optimum site travel.

Both machines feature the industry's largest standard deck in their size class with the standard platform measuring 7-ft. 2-in. wide by 16-ft. 6-in. long, including the 4-ft. manual extension. The platform width is within four inches of the machine width on either side allowing workers closer access to the workspace, and there are dual side entry gates for ready access from either side. Options available for the rough terrain scissor lifts add even greater utility. The MegaDeck(TM) platform with dual extensions increases the deck length to 20-ft. 6-in. for handling standard lengths of mechanical pipe. The optional one-touch leveling system is a timesaving feature that automatically levels the machine so it's ready for work within 15 to 30 seconds.

Both models of the new rough terrain scissor lifts can also be equipped with a 3,500-watt generator to compliment the hydraulically powered Easi-Clad panel positioner. This unique option lifts and helps to precisely position panels up to 220 lbs. and reduces worker strain caused by lifting heavy, long-length materials with the generator providing ample power for electric tools to attach the fasteners.
