SCHUNK at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2006 in Nuremberg - Retrospection, Insights, Highlights


12-07-2006 - This year, the industry highlight for electrical automation in Nuremberg showcased a positive development as well as an increase in attractiveness. More than 43,000 visitors utilized the opportunity to obtain more specific information about electric automation technology.

In an area of 48 square meters, SCHUNK presented modules and components for electric automation technology. Alongside servo-electric grippers, rotary units and drives, the linear axes with direct actuation technology MLD stole the attention of the visitors. A Pick-& Place Unit on the booth demonstrated the outstanding dynamics of the axes and their additional precision in positioning.

The topic MODULAR ROBOTICS was the highlight of the presentation. SCHUNK-modules such as PRL, Three- and Four-Finger Hands SDH and SAH, as well as modules of the PowerCube-Series are combined easily and quickly to create flexible robotic solutions. The resulting robot structures and lightweight arms are mainly used for research and development, measuring and inspection automation, industrial robots, and in the realm of service and personal robotics.
