Models APT15S20G and APT30S20C are 200 V Schottky diodes rated at 15 and 30 A, respectively. They can replace Epitaxial Diodes as output rectifiers in 48 V DC-DC converters and as free wheeling and anti-parallel diodes in low-voltage converters. Units come in TO-257 and TO-254 packages for Hi-Rel applications or harsh environments. Low forward voltage drop minimizes conduction losses, and soft reverse recovery characteristics result in reduced EMI.

New 200 Volt Hermetic Schottky Diodes Improves Efficiency of 48 Volt Outputs Used In Harsh Enviroments

Bend OR..... Advanced Power Technology (NASDAQ: APTI) is pleased to announce its new product line of 200 volt rugged Schottky Diodes built in hermetic packages. APT's Schottky Diodes offer several dramatic improvements over existing Epitaxial Diodes (FREDs), including:

o Lower forward voltage drop (VF) to minimize conduction losses enabling higher power conversion efficiencies
o Softer reverse recovery characteristics, resulting in reduced EMI
o Avalanche energy rated for improved reliability
o Built in hermetic TO-257 and TO-254 packages for Hi-Rel applications or harsh environments where added protection is required
o Military screening available

Power supply designers can now use APT's new Schottky Diodes to increase the efficiency of their designs. Designs with APT's Schottky Diodes will have 10-15% lower losses then FRED's with the same voltage ratings. These cost effective Schottky Diodes can replace FRED's as output rectifiers in high power 48 Volt DC-DC converters and as free wheeling and anti-parallel diodes in low voltage converters.

200 volt, 15 Amp and 30 Amp Schottky are available in TO-257 and TO-254 hermetic packages. Data sheets describing the features and benefits are available to assist the designer. These may be downloaded from APT's website at www.advancedpower.com or obtained from the factory.
