Scanning Matrix offers 10 different configurations.

Press Release Summary:

Used with automated electrical safety testers, modular Model SC6540 automatically makes connections by switching testing outputs of safety tester to correct test point of device under test. Unit allows manufacturers to connect multiple products at one time and cycle through tests. Master configuration can control up to 4 slave scanning matrixes, which provides total of 80 testing ports from single power source. Slave is configured without power module.

New Modular Scanning Matrix Provides a Flexible Scanning Solution that Offers 10 Different Configurations That Can Be Customized By the Customer

Lake Forest, Illinois, April 2004 - Announced today by Associated Research, Inc is the SC6540 modular scanning matrix for use with their automated lines of electrical safety testers. The SC6540 modular scanning matrix is designed to make applications that require multi-point test connections safer and easier by automating the test procedure. The modular scanning matrix will automatically make the connections by switching the testing outputs of a safety tester to the correct test point of the device under test. It can also automate multiple product testing by allowing manufacturers to connect multiple products at one time and cycle through the tests. This unique scanning matrix is modular in design providing the most flexible scanning solution on the market. The modular design of the scanning matrix allows customers to configure the scanning matrix to meet their testing needs by incorporating built-in modules that can be configured as high voltage/continuity or high current testing ports depending on the need of the customer. A total of ten different configurations are available for the SC6540.

The SC6540 is built off of two basic configurations; these are either a master scanning matrix or a slave scanning matrix. The master scanning matrix includes its own power module and is controlled directly through automation software, by using either one of the standard RS-232 or GPIB automation interfaces. In addition, a master scanning matrix can control up to 4 slave scanning matrixes which provides a total of 80 testing ports from a single power source. The slave is configured without a power module and is only controlled by an Associated Research automated electrical safety tester or a master scanning matrix. The following configurations are available for either the SC6540 master or slave scanning matrix.

8 High Voltage/Continuity Testing Ports

16 High Voltage/Continuity Testing Ports

8 High Voltage/Continuity & 8 High Current Testing Ports

8 High Current Testing Ports

16 High Current Testing Ports

The SC6540 is designed to run together with an Associated Research automated electrical safety tester. There are two families that will interface with the SC6540. These are the OMNIA Series of electrical safety compliance analyzers and the HypotULTRA III family of dielectric analyzers. The OMNIA Series has 4-in-1, 5-in-1, and 6-in-1 models that offer AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, Ground Bond/Continuity, Functional Run and Line leakage test capabilities. The HypotULTRA III family offers automated Hipot testing in two different models; an AC test voltage only model and a model that features AC and DC test voltage as well as a built-in Insulation Resistance test.
