Overview

DS4100 Model 1SC, Single Controller SATA Disk System

The IBM TotalStorage® DS4100 Model 1SC expands IBM's DS4000 series of fibre channel array storage technology storage systems with a new low-cost entry solution for small business applications and near-line, secondary storage applications. The DS4100 Model 1SC is a single controller offering based upon 2 Gbps Fibre Channel (FC) technology which enables RAID-protected storage, SAN attachment, includes three 250 GB Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) disk drives, and scalable capacity.

The DS4100 Model 1SC supports applications running on IBM pSeries® and xSeries® servers as well as select servers from Sun, HP, and other Intel(TM)-based servers. The DS4100 Model 1SC includes three 250 GB SATA disk drive modules and can be configured with up to 11 additional internal SATA disk drive modules, offering up to 3.5 terabytes (TB) of physical storage capacity.

DS4000 EXP100 SATA Storage Expansion Unit with 1-year warranty

An additional model of the IBM TotalStorage DS4000 EXP100 Storage Expansion enclosure is now being offered with a 1-year, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week warranty terms and conditions. The new EXP100 (1724-1XP) provides the same SATA disk storage expansion capabilities as the current EXP100 (1710-10U), which comes with a 3-year, 9 hours per day, 5 days per week warranty terms. The EXP100 models are interchangeable in DS4000 configurations where SATA Expansion enclosures are employed. The new 1724-1XP model of the EXP100 aligns in warranty terms with the IBM TotalStorage DS4100 Disk System, while the 1710-10U model of the EXP100 aligns in warranty terms with storage configurations based on the IBM TotalStorage DS4300, DS4400, and DS4500 Disk Systems.

· IBM p5 and pSeries servers running Linux(TM)
