Sapa NA Introduces ACC-U-LINE(TM) to its Premier Distributors

Rosemont, IL -- Sapa Extrusions North America today unveiled ACC-U-LINE(TM), an improved line of rod and bar products now available to its distribution partners in North America. ACC-U-LINE features unmatched dimensional tolerances and grain structure consistency, delivering the industry's best performance in machinability.

"We are very pleased to bring ACC-U-LINE to market, offering our Premier Distributor Partners an enhanced line of rod and bar products," said Patrick Lawlor, president of Sapa Extrusions North America. "The combination of research and development through our North America Technical Center, strategic capital investments and input from our distribution partners and their customers has culminated in the best and most complete line of aluminum extruded rod, bar and hex products on the market."

As the largest soft alloy extruder in North America, Sapa Extrusions utilizes state-of-the-art indirect presses to produce much of the ACC-U-LINE rod and bar product. Unlike the direct extrusion process, indirect extrusion reduces the frictional heat generated during extrusion, resulting in rod, bar and hex products that have more consistent dimensions, mechanical properties and grain structure.

ACC-U-LINE is produced at Sapa's expertly managed billet casting centers in Cressona, PA and Spanish Fork, UT. Charlie Straface, general manager of Sapa Extrusions - Industrial, said, "This advanced manufacturing capability allows Sapa to optimize alloy chemistry for improved machinability and deliver what we call 'The Core of Consistency,' because it is what's inside that counts."

The improved product characteristics of Sapa's ACC-U-LINE can increase machine efficiencies and improve recovery of machined parts, resulting in lower operating costs for machining centers and screw machine operations.

ACC-U-LINE offers tighter tolerances, higher mechanical properties, improved
machinability and better surface finish in machine grade products. Sapa features the largest selection of sizes with well-established industry brands, including ACC-U-BAR®, ACC-U-PLATE®, ACC-U-ROD(TM), JUMBO ROD and ACC-U-HEX(TM) for rod,
square, hex, rectangular and wide bar products in the industry, available in 6061, 6082 and 6042, 6262 free machining alloys.
