SAP Offers Individual Developer Licenses for SAP NetWeaver® through Online Communities

SAP Developer Network Subscriptions Program Enables Developers and Consultants to Experience and Evaluate the Benefits of SAP NetWeaver

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 2 - SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) today announced that for the first time, individual developers can now purchase an annual developer license for the SAP NetWeaver® platform via the SAP Developer Network (SDN) and Business Process Expert community sites. The new SDN Subscriptions program makes SAP NetWeaver easily accessible to developers, software architects, consultants and business process experts. Now individuals have a streamlined, cost-effective way to experience the benefits of enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) as they develop strategies to deploy SAP NetWeaver within their own - or their customers' - organizations. The announcement was made at SAP® TechEd '07, being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct. 1-5, 2007.

"The SAP developer subscriptions program allows me to improve my knowledge and skills so that I can deliver better service and advice to my clients - it's a win-win situation for my clients, SAP and me," said Michael M. Werner, business process expert, ERP solution architect, MW Management Consulting. "I work with companies across various industries and each requires specific recommendations to help improve their business. With this new offering, SAP is providing a 'laboratory' that allows me to create and demonstrate the value of enterprise SOA to customers from the very beginning."

Individuals who purchase an SAP NetWeaver developer license online receive the software, services and educational materials needed to leverage the power of SAP NetWeaver. The program offers individual developers and consultants a one-year license for internal developmental and evaluation purposes, which includes the components within the platform, such as SAP NetWeaver® Business Intelligence, SAP NetWeaver® Master Data Management, SAP® NetWeaver Mobile and SAP® NetWeaver Portal. To ensure flexible, streamlined development, the program also provides developer tools such as Web Dynpro and SAP NetWeaver® Composition Environment, which utilize a simple drag-and-drop style of development and enable developers to create various types of customized user interfaces for SAP NetWeaver applications that can be based on either Java or ABAP. In addition, individuals get access to the latest software patches and upgrades for the licensed software as well as full access to the virtual catalog of sessions recorded at SAP TechEd '07 Las Vegas.

"Leveraging enterprise SOA and our business process platform is key to our customers' future growth, and this innovative subscription program gives developers new ways to lay that critical foundation," said Zia Yusuf, executive vice president, Global Ecosystem and Platform Group, SAP. "The SDN Subscriptions program heralds the next generation in co-innovation across the extended SAP ecosystem. This is one more way that SAP is meeting the growing demand for SAP NetWeaver from individuals and organizations of all sizes."
