Sanitary Sewer Pipe features watertight joint.

Press Release Summary:

Eliminating potential for infiltration and exfiltration, SaniTite(TM) is manufactured from 100% virgin HDB pressure-rated HDPE material engineered to exceed 100 year life. Ranging from 18-60 in. diameter, pipe comes in 20 ft lengths and withstands abrasion and corrosive attacks from acidic and aklaline soils as well as aggressive environment and chemicals. It is suited for industrial wastewater and municipal sewer trunk and transmission lines.

Hancor Sanitary Sewer Pipe Product the Result of 10 Years of Research and Development

Findlay, Ohio, September 15, 2004 - Watertight performance is critical in any pipe application. In sanitary sewer applications, prevention of infiltration and exfiltration is essential.

Hancor engineers put their newest product - a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe for the sanitary sewer market - through 10 years of tests before its introduction. The result is a pipe and a watertight joint that eliminates the potential for infiltration and exfiltration and reinforces Hancor's commitment to environmental solutions.

SaniTite(TM) pipe is manufactured from 100 percent virgin Hydrostatic Design Bases (HDB) pressure rated HDPE material engineered to exceed a 100-year design life. 18"-60" diameter, SaniTite is designed for use in industrial wastewater and municipal sanitary sewer trunk and transmission lines. Product is available in 20' lengths to enhance installation rates.

"HDPE pipe has proven it's the best pipe material to withstand abrasion and corrosive attacks from acidic and alkaline soils as well as the aggressive environment and chemicals found in industrial waste and sewers," said Bill Altermatt, Hancor's Vice President of Marketing. "And the watertight joints means that none of the effluents are leaking and potentially polluting our environment."

"Heavier pipe profile walls and high-performance HDPE assures owners and contractors of the long term structural integrity of SaniTite pipe," said Tim Toliver, P.E., Director of Application & Field Engineering for Hancor. "Structural capacity at deeper burial depths is achieved with SaniTite pipe because it is 30 percent heavier than corrugated HDPE pipe made for storm water applications." To accommodate these deeper burial depths requiring a trench box, SaniTite is available in short lengths.

HDPE specifications have no allowance for fillers or recycled material when conforming to ASTM D3350. Watertight pipe joints for SaniTite exceed the minimum requirement of ASTM D3212.
