Sandvik Coromant's CoroMill 316 Combines Versatility and Performance

Fair Lawn, New Jersey, September 8, 2008 - Sandvik Coromant has announced that it will release the CoroMill 316 in early 2009. The CoroMill 316 is a new "split-tool" endmill system designed for small to medium diameters ranging from 3/8" - 1". Featuring a unique interface between an exchangeable cutting-tool top and shank, the high performance tool provides ideal stiffness for full-slot roughing and offers superior accuracy for precision finishing operations.

Sandvik Coromant designed the CoroMill 316's top to be easily tightened by the slight turn of a key. Users also benefit from the endmill's unique design, which enables the top to be changed in the machine, without removing the tool shank or further pre-setting of the cutting edge.

Based on Sandvik Coromant's CoroMill Plura geometries, CoroMill 316 is balanced by design and includes twin-blade and multi-flute cutters. The range can be combined with multiple cutting solutions from Sandvik Coromant, including the GC1030 grade insert.
