Samsung Showcases Unrivaled Bandwidth, Mobility and Design Innovations at Annual Technology Conference

Telecom Product Groups Bring Convergence to Life For Consumer and Enterprise Markets

DALLAS, Nov. 9 - Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) unveiled an impressive array of technologies, products and marketing strategies at the company's fifth annual technology showcase in New York City on Nov. 8 and 9, demonstrating why the company continues to raise industry expectations and consumers' eyebrows.

With a message of "Bandwidth, Mobility and Design," Samsung's three telecom product groups - Mobile, Wireless & Broadband Network Systems, and Business Communication Systems (BCS) - articulated the company's vision for convergence and demonstrated its technical and design innovations that are creating new consumer and enterprise experiences.

"We believe bandwidth, mobility and design are equally important in creating a truly converged experience for consumers and enterprises," said Jeong Han Kim, president of Samsung Telecommunications America. "This event allows us to demonstrate how Samsung is bringing convergence to life through our industry-leading technology, award-winning designs and influential branding programs. We're one of the only companies in the world that can make such a statement."

Samsung Mobile showcased an impressive line-up of 20 mobile phones including entertainment-on-demand devices for Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless, a new ultra-slim slider design for T-Mobile and a QWERTY keyboard design for Cingular Wireless.

The company also debuted its latest satellite digital mobile broadcast (DMB) phone, the SCH-B250, and the exclusive Bang & Olfusen phone, Serene, both of which are available in other markets.

Samsung's mobile group discussed how high-profile entertainment marketing programs - including its sponsorship of rock superstar Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers Tour 2005 - are helping drive consumer preference for the brand.

Advancing the mobility message, Samsung's Wireless & Broadband Network Systems group outlined the company's plans to be the first company to commercially launch a mobile high-speed data access system - Mobile WiMax - next year. Samsung plans to roll out WiBro in 84 Korean cities in the first half of 2006, offering throughput speeds of up to 30 Mbps. The group announced it is engaged in lab and field trials with Sprint Nextel aimed at driving the development of advanced wireless broadband services.

Samsung's BCS group confirmed that the company's vision for convergence expands beyond the consumer experience and includes the convergence of wireless and wireline enterprise telephony. The group demonstrated its next generation enterprise communications products, including its OfficeServ(TM) 7200 converged platform for voice and data communications and its OfficeServ Wireless enterprise mobility IP solution which creates a fully converged work environment - voice, data, wired and wireless all operating together on one integrated system.
