Samarion(SM) Selects the Guardian House as First Outcome-Based Study Site for Industry's Only Enterprise Quality Improvement System

Healthcare Technology Firm Brings Unprecedented Solution to Nursing Homes

LAKE CHARLES, La., Dec. 4 / -- Samarion Inc., the long-term care industry's technology partner, selected The Guardian House Total Alzheimer's Facility as its first outcome-based study site for the SamarionSolution(SM), the nursing home industry's only Enterprise Quality Improvement System.

The Guardian House is a 60-bed unique nursing facility specializing in a full continuum of care for Alzheimer's/Dementia residents. The Guardian House, located at 1401 Country Club Road in Lake Charles, La., opened its doors in April 2000. The Samarion team of experts anticipates completion of the installation of the SamarionSolution(SM) at The Guardian House by February 2008.

"We're thrilled to be an outcome-based study site for the SamarionSolution(SM)," said Neal Rider, administrator and owner of The Guardian House. "When we saw the benefits of the Enterprise Quality Improvement System for everyone involved -- from residents and their family members to caregivers and managers -- we knew it was one of those brilliant innovations that would dramatically change the way we in the long-term care industry do business. To be the first long-term care facility to utilize this quality improvement system is lagniappe."

The SamarionSolution(SM) provides unprecedented restraint-free fall prevention; wandering and elopement prevention; resident, staff and visitor safety and security management; unparalleled staff management and facility monitoring; and an all-encompassing family-and-friends communications system.

"At first, our staff was concerned about having monitors everywhere, but then it hit home how innovative the system is and what a benefit it is to our residents and staff," noted Rider. "There's nothing like it in the world. It's like walking on the moon for us."

Mark Rodgers, Samarion Founder and CEO, stated: "Because our team has a special place in our hearts for the elderly, we're excited about the completion of the first SamarionSolution(SM) system at The Guardian House. Neal had the foresight to see how our system would revolutionize the industry, improve the quality of life for nursing home residents and caregivers, and boost the bottom line."

Samarion President and CTO Samer N'Ser added: "This is truly transforming technology that has never been applied in the long-term care market. The many innovations of the SamarionSolution(SM) have been implemented while simplicity and transparency have been enforced for the system's end users, especially the residents and nursing home caregivers. Its efficiency and reliability are key factors to its operations, eliminating the need for a dedicated on-site IT staff."

Samarion will soon announce its second outcome-based study site as well as independent third party partners, which will validate the outcome-based study results.

The SamarionSolution(SM) was unveiled nationally at the AHCA/NACL/MECF 58th Annual Convention and Exposition Oct. 7-10 in Boston, Mass., and at the AAHSA 2007 Annual Meeting and Exposition Oct. 21-24 in Orlando, Fla.

Samarion is a privately-held corporation based in Jackson, Miss., dedicated to improving the quality of elder care.
