"A challenging economy, evolving regulatory environment, and increased demand for greater sustainability may present several hurdles to dispensing equipment manufacturers or beverage processors," said Iuliana Nita, Global Marketing Manager, Food and Beverage, Process Systems Business Unit at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. "Our hands-on approach to engineering tubing solutions that are safe, smart and sustainable helps processors gain or maintain a competitive edge."

At Drinktec 2013, Saint-Gobain shares insights on its safe, smart and sustainable tubing solutions for beverage transfer and dispensing applications.

From the recently launched Tygon S3® range of phthalate-free tubing solutions, Tygon S3® B-44-3 is a clear tubing that allows easy visual monitoring of flow, while  being light-weight and flexible for quick installation. Made from a bio-based material, it also offers added sustainability benefits while providing the same level of durable and consistent performance and taste-free and odor-free properties as Saint-Gobain's established Tygon® branded offerings.

Saint-Gobain is also presenting its range of silicone tubing that offers both taste-free and odor-free properties as well as thermal resistance. Saint-Gobain's silicone solutions are translucent, water-repellent, and anti-adhesive and exhibit exceptional resistance to degradation from UV rays, oxygen and ozone, making it an ideal in the transfer of high-purity or high-tech fluids.

Additionally, Saint-Gobain's thermoplastic elastomer tubing is engineered as a long-life pump- tubing for a variety of applications, including in peristaltic pumps. It offers a pump life of more than 500 hours. With temperature resistance, superior flex life, low extractibles, this solution provides an alternative to PVC and silicone products when there is a longer pump life required.
