Sage Software Insights 2006 Conference Highlights Broad Selection of Business Mgmt SW & Services for SMBs


Dozens of new or enhanced products provide choice for small and mid-sized businesses and organizations

Nashville, Tenn., May 8, 2006 - At Insights 2006, its annual business partner conference, Sage Software is showcasing its broad selection of new products, major upgrades and services for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) and organizations. Among the introductions are new and enhanced accounting, online payroll, human resources (HR), fundraising and customer relationship management (CRM) products as well as integration plans for its merchant services for credit card and payment processing.

The breadth of products being introduced underscores Sage Software's strength in offering the broadest range of business management solutions for SMBs from a single vendor, providing businesses with integrated applications, choice in their technology options, and the ability to migrate to more advanced software products as their businesses grow.

New products and services featured at Insights 2006 focus on creating integrated end-to-end business management solutions for small and mid-sized businesses, and include:

Human Resources

Sage Abra eRecruiter, launching this month, is a new online recruiting solution for the award-winning Sage Abra HRMS product line that helps HR professionals reduce hiring costs, shorten the hiring cycle, and comply with federal regulations and proposed guidelines.

Sage Abra HRMS version 8.1, launching this month, now supports Canadian as well as U.S. companies and delivers new reporting options and features that bring more flexibility and ease-of-use to the Sage Abra HRMS system.

At Insights 2006, Sage Software is announcing plans for development of a Sage Accpac ERP-Sage Abra HRMS integration, which will enable U.S. and Canadian companies using Sage Accpac ERP to take advantage of the award-winning Sage Abra HRMS solution for mid-sized businesses.

Online Payroll Services

Sage Software last month introduced Sage Payroll Services integration with Sage Accpac ERP, adding to existing integration with Peachtree by Sage, Sage MAS 90 ERP, Sage MAS 200 ERP, and Sage Abra HRMS. At Insights 2006, Sage Software is introducing Sage Payroll Services integration with Peachtree by Sage - Quantum, scheduled for June 2006, and Sage BusinessWorks Accounting, scheduled for September 2006. Sage Payroll Services provide 24/7 online access to payroll management for more than 6,000 businesses.

Sage Compliance Utility, a Sage Compliance Services solution for Sage MAS 90 ERP and Sage MAS 200 ERP, enables companies to automate payroll tax compliance issues while minimizing exposure to penalties and reducing related IT needs, and will be available next month.

CRM Solutions

Sage CRM SalesLogix v7, shipping in Summer 2006, will provide new and enhanced capabilities across the product suite for users, administrators and developers. Interactive dashboards, drill-down analysis, expanded lead management and email marketing capabilities, integrated service and support, full-featured mobile support and enhanced integration with Sage ERP back-office solutions are among the new features.

ACT! by Sage Premium for Real Estate, launched May 1st, 2006 as the first ACT! vertical industry solution, builds upon the product's reputation as the preferred choice of selling professionals. ACT! Premium for Real Estate equips residential real estate professionals with industry-specific tools to help cultivate quality referrals, market to them effectively, and sell more homes.

Sage CRM Solutions introduced the next phase of its migration strategy focused on delivering simplified migration of ACT! and Goldmine to Sage CRM, SageCRM.com and Sage CRM SalesLogix.

Accounting and Operations Management

For small business: Peachtree by Sage - Quantum, for mature small businesses with up to 10 named accounting users, and the full Peachtree by Sage 2007 line, shipping in June 2006, feature advanced MS-Office integration and an efficiency-focused new design developed with small business owners.

For small and mid-sized businesses:

Sage MAS 90 4.2, launching in September 2006, will include the conversion of its Accounts Payable module to Business Framework, which streamlines workflow and increases productivity through improved personalization, customization, reporting and integration features. Also new will be Business Insights Explorer, which provides enhanced inquiry, drill-down and robust Microsoft Excel and Word integration. Sage BusinessWorks Accounting version 7, shipping in October 2006, supports up to 45 concurrent users and includes many significant improvements to Payroll as well as a seamless integration to Sage Payroll Services.

For mid-sized businesses and small enterprises:

Sage Accpac ERP 5.4 and Sage Pro ERP 7.4, shipping in Summer 2006, focus on significantly enhancing user productivity. Sage Accpac ERP will include a new RMA module and 300 user-requested new features supporting operational efficiency, greater data security, and more process flexibility - such as choice of batch or real-time processing defined by user. Sage Pro ERP will also include a new RMA module, document workflow, an executive dashboard and more than 200 user-requested enhancements. Sage PFW 5.5, launching in September 2006, features the new Batch Edit Report, which provides process manufacturers numerous, configurable validation checks to ensure the accuracy of critical materials, formulas, finished goods or raw materials before batches are run. For improved workflow, Sage PFW 5.5 includes an Advanced Lookup Engine, which provides flexible options for accessing and formatting information, plus Enhanced Security and new Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable features to improve productivity.

Warehouse Automation: Sage MAS 500 Warehouse Automation module speeds workflow throughout a company's warehouse operations. Sage MAS 500 Warehouse Automation provides wireless support that is ideal for companies with complex warehouse needs or that need to meet RFID (radio frequency identification) requirements such as those mandated by government or large retailers. Launched in March 2006, Sage Accpac WMS 5.0 features warehouse automation capabilities available via optional modules, giving customers freedom to build customized warehouse automation systems "a la carte" with significant cost savings.

Business Analysis: Sage PFW ERP - Customer Insights Module, launched in March 2006, supports fast, personalized attention to every customer with a Customer Activity Dashboard, giving users single-click access to detailed credit status, pricing, quotes, orders, sales history, buying patterns and behaviors.

Time and Expense Management: Sage TimeSheet - MAS 90 Edition, launching in July 2006, is a new Web-based edition featuring tight integration with Sage MAS 90 ERP A/P, Job Cost, and Payroll ensuring accurate capture of detailed employee time and expense information.

Fixed Asset Management: Sage FAS Canada 2006, launching in Summer 2006, will include a new asset inventory solution as well as integration to FAS CIP Accounting for construction-in-progress accounting. FAS Compliance Advisor, launching in Summer 2006, will provide Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation related to fixed asset management.

Accounting and Operations Management for Construction and Real Estate

Sage Timberline Office - Version 9.3, launching in Spring 2006, preserves Sage Timberline Office's award winning flexible system architecture while dramatically streamlining setup and workflow functions for quicker implementation and a more intuitive workflow.

Fund Accounting and Fundraising for Nonprofit and Government Organizations

Sage MIP Fund Accounting 8.0, launching in September 2006, will feature a new multi-currency module, integrated inventory control module, and major enhancements to the purchase orders module.

Sage Fundraising 50 version 7.0, launching in Summer 2006, will feature major ease-of-use improvements, new data import functionality and reporting enhancements as well as improved integration to Sage MIP Fund Accounting and a seamless interface with Peachtree by Sage.

Sage Fundraising 100 version 5.0, released in April 2006, is Sage Software's donor relationship management solution for medium to large nonprofit organizations, and includes enhanced document management, grant proposal, and endowment management capabilities, customizable menu and view options, and ease-of use enhancements.

Merchant Services

Sage introduced plans for integration of its Verus merchant services for credit card and other payment processing with Sage MAS 90 ERP and Sage Accpac ERP business management systems.
